- Padma Cecilia Meagher was born at 1:47 am, on Wednesday, March 26, 2008. She arrived into the world a healthy little girl, 6lbs. 13 ozs. , 2 hours after her mother and father arrived at the Squamish hospital.
Padma - a lotus flower blooms in Pemberton
Padma, both in Tibetan and Indian cultures, means "lotus flower". The Lotus is a metaphor for spiritual enlightenment, because it germinates in the mud at the bottom of a pond, yet perseveres, growing toward the (sun)light to finally mature as a most beautiful, graceful blossom upon the water. In Tibetan and Indian iconography, dieties like Buddha or Vishnu are often sitting on a lotus flower or holding a perfect bloom. Indeed, these gods are often depicted sitting in a "full lotus posture" (Padmasana), a yogic pose very commonly used in meditation. The mantra "Om Mani Padma Hum" is a ubiquitous Buddhist prayer, which they believe when said out loud or silently to oneself, invokes the blessings of Chenrezig, the Buddha of Compassion.

wow. she's super duper incredibly gorgeous and adorable. i mean, you two are good looking... but seriously, she's over the top!! sooo very happy for you all... i've been at this "living" thing for quite a few years now... and bing! now there's padma and she makes me marval at life -- it's amazing how a little bundle of wonder goes such a looooong way :)
